College towns see lower Web costs: developers offer service with less overhead
Article Abstract:
The costs of developing Web sites are significantly lower in college towns than in major markets according to the results of the Sept 1998 Web Price Index. For instance, a small Web site in a college town costs only $12,000 while major market costs reach up to $44,500. Rather than reflect a drop in work quality, these price differences show a lower cost of doing business. However, Web developers in college towns find it hard to look and keep their employees who are often lured by the high salaries offered by developers who are based on major markets.

Ask a lot of questions before choosing an ISP
Article Abstract:
Reliability, price, service and flexibility are the factors that should be considered when choosing an Internet service provider (ISP) for a corporate World Wide Web site. ISP's pricing strategy should be compatible with users' budget while service depends on users' disk usage, bandwidth and access requirements. Extra services such as e-mail addresses, secure transactions and multiple domains compatibilities should also be considered.

Merger mania marks Web maturation
Article Abstract:

However, when two companies join, one tends to lose its culture and identity to the other. Personnel changes also tend to increase, including firing and hiring new staff.
