Article Abstract:
Defense contractors converged on the Marine Corps Base Quantico airfield touting their systems and hoping to prevent their programs from being included in the congressional defense budget cuts. Lockheed Martin displayed a model of its Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) version of the future F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), Raytheon Co. exhibited its wide range of missiles and a navigation/targeting Forward Looking-Infrared, or FLIR, system and the V-22 Osprey was the exhibit of choice of the Boeing Co. and Bell Helicopter.
