Psychometric equivalence of an improved Basic Language Morningness (BALM) Scale using industrial population within comparisons
Article Abstract:
The Basic Language Morningness (BALM) was developed from a 13-item composite circadian rhythm morningness scale at a simplified reading level. Results show that there are three factors: morningness/effort, morning alert and evening. Moreover, the strongest scale factor is morningness/effort, and the morning alertness factor is much weaker. But the evening factor is irrelevant, and doesnot contribute any information.

Locomotive engineers and their spouses: coffee consumption, mood, and sleep reports
Article Abstract:
The effect of caffeine consumption on sleep behavior and mood ratings is investigated. Results show that engineers on irregular schedules drink more coffee on workdays, and there are shorter sleep lengths, longer sleep latenciesand affected mood states on both workdays and non-workdays. Since the work schedules of the engineers are very irregular, the extent to which these findings can be generalized is unknown.
