The new guidance proposals by U.K. Medical and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency/European Medicines Evaluation Agency following the catastrophic first-in-human-trial incident involving the agonist TGN1412 produced by German biotech company TeGenero received weak response from industry watchers.

European Union's (EU's) zero-tolerance stance about genetically-modified (GM) plant materials in imported goods is likely create a huge shortage in livestock feed by 2009-2010. European importers might reject the feed shipments containing traces of the unapproved new varieties of GM crops.
