Seitel Inc Pres Paul Frame and Exec VP Horace Calvert bought a total of 200,000 shares to lead other company employees in a 400,000-share $2.2 million worth of insider transactions. Frame and Calvert bought 100,000 each. Dir James Rives, Jr. and Debra D. Valice bought 25,000 shares each. Calvert was promoted to CEO in a management shuffle after Seitel profits dropped to their lowest at $480,000 in Jun 1992. The company blames the low demand for seismic data to the recession.

National Data Corp's stock value improved to 12 and one-half after posting a low of eight for early Oct 1992. The stock reached a high of 17 3/4 but a 42% earning reduction from 16 to 10 cents for August prompted investor Joseph L. Harrosh to buy 273,000 shares. Analyst David Glaser noted that the company's management restructuring has compromised its growth. The company gives a 44 cent dividend on the 12 million shares.
