Rewriting the IPO playbook
Article Abstract:
An initial public offering (IPO) must be well-prepared and consider future market conditions after its launch. Companies must ensure that analyst support, aftermarket trading support and institutional interest are established following the IPO. An Ernst and Young study showed that 28% of treasury professionals felt unprepared after an IPO. Thus, companies must be very thorough in ensuring that all financial questions are resolved prior to going public.

Anza's Greg Kulesa maintains that the company was able to offer performance units to employees as incentives while taking advantage of lower operating costs offered by rural areas. Setting up business in rural areas offers advantages and disadvantages, but Anza's experience shows how the disadvantages may be circumvented by creative financial and risk management similar to the performance units that the company offers.
