AES Corp. is one of the world's largest electric utility companies, with global interests that include power plants in China and Kazakhstan. AES Corp., which has assets of $5.8 billion, currently has power plant construction projects underway with a worth of $5 billion. In Kazakhstan, AES Corp. acquired a 4,000 MW power plant in Ekibastuz with the Israeli company Suntree as a partner that supplies 25% of the country's electricity.
