Direct marketing making inevitable transformation to Internet
Article Abstract:
Direct marketing on the Internet is rapidly growing. According to the Direct Marketing Assn, Internet users will reach 700 million by the year 2000. The Dept of Justice, meanwhile, predicts that business-to-business electronic commerce will grow to $300 billion by 2002. These bright forecasts should compel companies to adopt the Internet as a direct marketing medium. The Internet provides an opportunity for small direct marketers to compete equally with bigger rivals and achieve success in relationship marketing.

Article Abstract:
The Internet can be used by salespeople to determine the factors that motivate prospective customers to make purchase decisions. These factors include product features, technical specifications, expert opinions and testimonials. Properly used, the Internet can generate pre-sold customers for a number of products. It can also provide leads and prospects who are willing to buy by virtue of their interactive online relationship.
