Driving experience and time-sharing during in-car tasks on roads of different width
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the effect of driving experience and road type on the visual attention allocation by analyzing the distribution of glance duration of experienced and novice drivers while they are performing in-car activities. These activities include changing a radio cassette, dialling a mobile phone or tuning a radio while driving along a highway. Results showed that experienced drivers allocate their visual attention better than inexperienced drivers.

Performance on driving-related tasks during music
Article Abstract:
The effect of music on driving-relating tracking and vigilance tasks was studied. The results suggest that relatively simple tracking tasks were not affected by music, but response times to centrally sited visual signals improved. High-intensity music was linked with a rise in response time to peripheral signals in high-demand situations.
