EADS reports strong first half; profits soar

The European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. (EADS) announced strong first-half results for 2005 showing 57 percent increase with pre-tax earnings, revenues, net cash position, and other financial measures showing strong improvement over first half of 2004. EADS also predicted that it would have a successful second half year with confidence of its earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) total for 2005 exceeding 2.6 billion euros.

EADS to launch U.S. aerial tanker facility

European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. (EADS) would establish a new aircraft engineering center in the United States, as part of an explicit bid to court anticipated Air Force aerial tanker orders. Its investment in the facility would reach $600 million if the company reaches the stage of building a military modification and assembly line.
