Internet service providers suffer from intense competition and need to make major investments in equipment to deal with demand peaks. The company has developed a subscriber base numbering 45,000 which should increase. Internet Technology also plans links with content providers and has reached an agreement with Capital Radio.

Easynet puts its faith in corporate customers

Easynet is focusing on corporate clients which should help protect the company from price competition. The company's corporate client list has risen by 298% to 3,260 for 1997. IBM is the company's biggest competitor in corporate activities. Easynet is also in competition with Demon, BT, Compuserve AOL and Virgin for dialup revenue. Easynet has been granted a telecoms license and telecoms sales could rise to 3.5 million pounds sterling in 1999.
