Washed up
Article Abstract:
UK dry cleaning concern Sketchley has denied that it will be purchased as a complete unit. However, it is possible that it will sell off its retail division. The dry cleaning sector as a whole has experienced difficulties in the 1990s, and Sketchley has been particularly badly affected. The company stopped paying dividends in 1997 after establishing that it would cost 10 million pounds sterling more than planned to shut down 160 of its 700 branches.
