Editorial: strategies for ergonomics in developing countries
Article Abstract:
Ergonomic research should be incorporated to a developing country's social and cultural climate. Nationwide cooperative projects should be encouraged and development of theoretical models must be examined upon. One of the customary problems in introduction of ergonomics in a developing country is that the structure and tenets of ergonomics are often archaic and strange to the average man. A successful cross-cultural contrast can be effectively achieved through an appropriate methodology of study.

Ergonomics and technology transfer into small and medium-sized enterprises
Article Abstract:
The application of ergonomics to technology transfer in small and medium-sized enterprises is discussed. It is shown that effective ergonomic interventions are those that build on local practice, emphasize practicable solutions and use participatory methods. Firms must also develop change strategies that focus on enabling methods that encourage immediate action in various work aspects and on the flexible use of support tools and training.
