Financial strategies of multinational firms in the world wine industry: An assessment
Article Abstract:
The emergence of financialization in the wine industry by wine multinationals (MNEs), by analyzing the MNE's strategy in the world market as well as using a sample of major MNEs listed on stock markets is explored. Results indicated that restructuring MNEs in the wine industry appeared more and more influenced by the model of shareholder value creation and this had a major impact across the whole wine chain (wine production, suppliers of raw material, wholesalers and distributors).

Wine business practices: A new versus old wine world perspective
Article Abstract:
A research on some of the strategic choices made by small wine firms from two different New World wine producing countries, Australia and New Zealand, and one traditional wine producing region of France are investigated and compared. Results showed that business practices were clearly dependent upon the business activity (bottled wine vs. bulk wine) and the main goal of the owner (improving economic performance vs. increasing market share).
