Electromagnetic pulse threatens United States, Navy ships
Article Abstract:
The daunting outlook came from the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack in its report to the House Armed Services Committee (HASC). An EMP attack would cripple farm machinery, and the pipelines and tanker trucks that bring fuel to run agri-machinery, and much of the distribution and marketing system for food products once they are produced on farms, ranches and orchards.

General Dynamics 4Q profits jump 20.4 percent, 15.3 percent for 2004

General Dynamics Corporation, the fourth-largest defense contractor, posted glowing financial results for the final three months of 2004. General Dynamics reported earnings of $336 million up 20.4 percent from the $279 million in the final quarter of 2003.
