Embargoes should go, says tech reporter
Article Abstract:
Newspaper technology reporters are asking public relations professionals to discontinue the practice of making reporters sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). NDAs, which amount to news embargoes, prohibits a reporter from publishing information about a particular product before the manufacturers make their announcements. Reporters argue that such types of agreements are a waste of time because they would be hard to implement.
