Emerging with confidence
Article Abstract:
New issues of funds specialising in emerging markets have increased. This is partly because fund managers are less confident that the US and UK markets will continue to perform well. There is potential for growth in developing economies, but there are also risks involved. Investors should be selective when choosing a fund. Investment trusts have greater freedom in selling and purchasing shares than do unit trusts and this may be important where there are volatile markets that lack liquidity.
