England says Osprey design problems solved, but bell-Boeing must cut price
Article Abstract:
Navy Secretary Gordon England stated that the design problems of the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft is solved and will be a critical part of the total Navy-Marine Corps force, if the manufacturer agrees to cut the price on the Osprey. He also indicated that it would be unthinkable to cancel the Osprey procurement program, as the tilt-rotor aircraft is a crucial centerpiece of the overall Navy-Marine Corp. force structure for the 21st century.

Boeing proposes P-8A sensor plane for ACS contract
Article Abstract:
The Boeing Co. is planning to propose a modified version of its P-8A Multimission Maritime Aircraft (MMA), if the Army and Navy offer a new contract for the planned Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) aircraft platform. In a briefing near Washington, Boeing officials argued that taxpayers already have invested in development of the MMA, a modified Boeing 737-800 airliner, and much of that investment could be used in any ACS platform.
