Executives worry too many females may stunt PR's growth
Article Abstract:
The dominance of females in the public relations (PR) business worries PR executives for its possible negative effects on the industry. The issue was addressed during the Public Relations Society of America's National Conference in Chicago, IL, in Oct 2000 by the three 'deans' of PR, namely Harold Burson, Dan Edelman and Al Golin. The three expressed their concern about the field increasingly becoming identified as a female occupation, and that PR firms need to recruit more men.
