FCA competition to get underway soon, Raytheon official says

The Air Force is joining the US Army for the acquisition of the Future Cargo Aircraft (FCA) program in 2006 after the top Pentagon procurement official rejected the Army's plans to procure the aircraft alone. With the FCA, it has been Army's intention to buy 33 commercially available aircraft initially and more later, to meet its next-generation transport requirement, in a contest potentially worth about $1 billion to the winning contractor.

Army assesses Stryker Drones with eye to robot convoys
Article Abstract:
The US Army is testing Stryker vehicle in a program that would enable them to move in convoys as robotic vehicles in 2006 at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Stryker is a new family of wheeled vehicles made for the Army by G eneral Dynamics Corp. unit Land Systems that convoy technology sensors.
