Final step in Hanson break-up
Article Abstract:
Shareholders will vote on the last phase of the Hanson demerger Feb 1997. The Energy Group will be comprised of the electricity and coal activities of Hanson. Imperial, the tobacco group, has seen a rise in its share price in the US, but Millennium, the chemical concern, has seen a drop in its share price since it was separated from Hanson. Aggregate dividends are likely to fall and this will affect the income of shareholders retaining stakes in Energy Group, Imperial, Millennium and New Hanson.
