AFRICA: ORGANIC EXCHANGE ON THE INTERNET
Article Abstract:
The World Organic Commodity Exchange (WOCX) is a new idea of the Organics Africa Group, working on development of organic farming in Southern Africa since 1998. Through the WOCX's subscription service farmers can offer their crops and fix their minimum price worldwide. It will also enable them to deal with bids. Such a service will provide 25% to 30% higher prices than normally. Around 2,000 producers, as well as giant stores and European and Japanese buyers, are expected to take advantage of this service within the next two years.
