Get wired! A primer for unlocking the mysteries of online services, bulletin board systems and the Internet
Article Abstract:
Chartered accountants (CAs) who access online services can refer to a vast realm of information that can be used to improve the quality of client service. To go online, all they need is a personal computer (PC), a modem, a telephone line and a credit card. Two basic types of research can be conducted by CAs in the online universe: knowledge retrieval and knowledge networking. A good place for them to start would be the CA-Xchange. Local bulletin boards, online databases, the Internet and the Compuserve service are other important online channels that CAs may find useful.
