Graduate Education in Germany
Article Abstract:
A report of an experimental graduate public relations education program in West Germany is presented. Major characteristics of the program include a three-semester time frame, an interdisciplinary approach, heterogeneous entrance qualifications and practical experience. Disciplines involved are communication, economics, psychology, political science, law and English. Preliminary results of the experimental program are encouraging. At least half of the program graduates have found jobs. Problems have occurred in the interdisciplinary approach and in practical cooperation. Suggestions for solving these problems are included.
