Article Abstract:
The effects of visual display terminals on employee health and welfare are assessed. A research review is provided. If the display unit is well-designed in an adjustable work station, the operator should experience minimal discomfort. Clerical work using these units should produce the same effects as other sedentary clerical work. Clerical workers should be optically corrected for workstation operation. Adjustable chairs should be provided. Steps should be taken to avoid boredom.
