Harrow considers opting out of national pay bargaining

Article Abstract:

Harrow LBC is likely to join about 20 other local governments which have decided not to enforce the national wage bargaining agreement scheduled to start in Apr 1993. The group has decided instead to implement a local pay scheme. The decision was brought about by the borough authorities' belief that they were not fully represented in the national negotiations. Harrow's Head of Personnel John Coe confirms this fact and states that it was impossible for more than 500 local representatives with different points of view and financial situations to reconcile their differences.

A fishing trip to the Amazon Basin is described. There are many gamefish in the area, but the primary goal of the trip was the huge peacock bass, or tucunare azul. The fish were finally found, after encounters with piranhas, howler moneys, a local tribe, and the oncoming monsoon.
