Hedva increases productivity

Hedva (Moravska Trebova, Czech Republic), textile firm, saw a net profit of CEK 8.1 mil in 2000. The firm will use the majority of the profit for the coverage of previous losses. It will transfer nearly CEK 810,000 to its reserve fund. In 1999 Hedva saw a loss of CEK 34.4 mil. The loss was caused mainly by the formation of rectifying items. The firm's proceeds totalled nearly CEK 729 mil in 2000, CEK 36 mil more compared to 1999. Hedva exports more than 50% of its production. The 2000 profit was influenced by the firm's restructuring. Hedva has concentrated its grey lining and cotton fabric production to Moravska Trebova and its Jacquard production to its plant in Rymarov, the Czech Republic. The firm has decreased the number of its employees by 234 to the current 979 persons on average by the production concentration. Its productivity from value added increased by 34% to CEK 237,200 per employee in 2000 compared to 1999. In 2000 the firm commissioned investments worth CEK 52 mil and purchased new investments worth CEK 20.4 mil. Its stock is over CEK 790 mil.

Hedva expects a profit again

Hedva (Moravska Trebova, Czech Republic), textile firm, expects a gross profit of CEK 20 mil in 2001 compared to CEK 11.3 mil in 2000. Its proceeds should be nearly CEK 800 mil in 2001 compared to CEK 729 mil in 1999. The number of the firm's employees should decrease by 109 to 870 persons in 2001 compared to 2000. Hedva's productivity of labour from value added per employee should increase by 13.5% in 2001 compared to 2000. Hedva generated a gross profit of CEK 10.7 mil for Jan-Apr/2001, CEK 7.8 mil more compared to the same period for 2000. The firm's proceeds for the sales of its products and services increased by 5% to CEK 248.4 mil for Jan-Apr/2001 compared to Jan-Apr/2000.

Jitex saves the domestic market

Jitex (Pisek, Czech Republic), textile firm, saw proceeds of CEK 1.095 bil in 2000, CEK 94 mil more compared to 1999. The firm's exports represent about 55% of its total sales but they decreased in 2000 compared to 1999. The company compensated the drop of its exports by the supplies of completed products to the domestic market, which increased by 20% in 2000 compared to 1999. The growth of Jitex's domestic sales was represented mainly by supplies for the Czech army and the production of the replicas of football representative outfits within the European cup.
