Hill Samuel British
Article Abstract:
Hill Samuel British has Hak Sahil as its lead fund manager, and specializes in larger United Kingdom firms, with the aim of providing income and capital growth over the longer term. The main 10 holdings include Glaxo Wellcome and Lloyds TSB. FTSE 100 stocks account for more than 80% of the fund, and the manager sees this index as likely to perform better than the All-Share and smaller firms. Financials account for nearly 30% of the fund. The fund's performance is better than average, though there are better performers.

Strength beyond the EU
Article Abstract:
The offshore investment fund industry has been strong in Guernsey despite fears that the industry would be hit by the island being outside the European Union (EU). This means that Guernsey is not covered by Ucits legalisation of 1985 allowing funds to be sold in the EU. There are reciprocal agreements which allow Guernsey funds to be marketed and bilateral agreements with countries such as Japan and Hong Kong which are outside the EU.
