In bed with Blair's New Labour
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom Labor party has developed links with business, and there are businessmen who have been appointed to government posts. Many businessmen see the party as likely to be in power for ten years and good relations are thus important. There are risks for the government in having links with companies that may sack workers, while businessmen run risks of appearing to support all the policies of the government. The Labor party has reinvented its image as a supporter of business and this is seen as a positive move by one major investor.

Dutch auction
Article Abstract:
Interpol and the UK Fraud Squad have been contacted by authorities in the Netherlands which are investigating Avington International. The company persuaded investors to buy metals like titanium at prices far higher than the market rate. Investors became concerned when they were notified that the company's specialty metals division had been shut down. The metals are stored by Racon International Freight Forwarders which has not been able to get in touch with Avington.
