In vivo detection of amyloid-beta deposits by near infrared imaging using an oxazine-derivative probe
Article Abstract:
The synthesis and characterization of the near-infrared fluorescence oxazine dye AOI987, which readily penetrates the intact blood-brain barrier and binds to amyloid plaques is described. Specific interaction of AOI987 with amyloid plaques in amyloid precursor protein 23 (APP23) transgenic mice in vivo by using near-infrared fluorescence imaging is demonstrated.

Target watching with a beady eye
Article Abstract:
Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles coated with dextran covalently bound to peptide sequences from the HIV derived Tat protein label stem and progenitor cells ex vivo. This process enables the paramagnetic label to be effectively internalized into target cells.
