Incentives still at a premium

The Hong Kong dollar bond market, with outstanding volume of US$47 billion in 1996, is one of the most developed bond markets in Asia. In the first six months, the Hong Kong dollar bond market saw the float of 95 issues worth with outstanding volume of HK$47.8 billion a volume of HK$15.4 billion on 109 issues for the entire year of 1992. However, it has not entirely been accepted by Hong Kong companies.

Settlement of FIIs in Malaysia
Article Abstract:
The settlement procedures for Fixed Income Instruments (FIIs) on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange are detailed. FIIs are used to finance Malaysian infrastructure projects. The volume of Private Debt Securities issues on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange has increased from RM 15 billion to RM31 billion in three years.
