TLS Range is a UK company involved in vehicle hire. The company was set up in 1979 and called Transport Leasing Services. A rights issue was carried out in 1993 in order to expand the fleet as demand rose. The company was hit by the early 1990s recession but reported a profit from 1993. The company has decided to focus on cars and light commercial vehciles and withdraw from heavy vehicles. TLS is seeking a national presence through becoming a preferred regional supplier.

The North West Regional Development Agency (RDA) has to prepare a regional strategy for the north west of England. The RDA brings together a number of government agencies and aims to bring benefits from economies of scale, better coordination and improved targeting. There are 12 places on the RDA board, with local government accounting for four of these. Education, the voluntary sector, and rural interests have to be represented by may not gain seats on the RDA's board.
