Investing in emerging markets involves risk but also the chance of high returns. The timing and location of investments are key factors affecting returns. Asia is favorite among fund managers, and S Korea the favorite country within Asia in terms of attracting investment. Hungary is favored among European countries and Russia has seen a net outflow, partly due to political risk. Chile, Brazil and Venezuela are seen as strong performers in Latin America.
