James Dickie engineers new business
Article Abstract:
James Dickie is a UK manufacturer of engineering components, and reported a 51% rise in profit for the year to Aug 1995, with dividends up by 57%. The company has set up a JV with Caterpillar to produce special attachments, and has acquired Belcot, a producer of press-tools and presswork. Belcot's market includes automobile producers and domestic appliance companies. Dickie faces a rise in raw material costs as steel prices rise. Some increases have been passed on, and steel prices are apparently softening. The company's profit is forecast at 2.5 million pounds sterling by Williams de Broe, but could exceed this figure.
