Japan GMO deal
Article Abstract:
Japan Tobacco and Astra Zeneca of the United Kingdom are planning to launch a joint venture in the area of the genetic modification of plants. The new venture, which is expected to be set up before the end of 1999, will attempt to develop new varieties of rice. The joint venture will market the new rice for human consumption and livestock feed.
