The company has some divisions which have performed well, such as electronic chemicals. The company's new chief executive is Jim Leng, who has taken over from Ken Minton. A plant rationalization program is planned by Leng, with 10 plants to close of a total of 100. A profit of 120 million pounds sterling could be achieved for 1996 by the company.
