Lockheed, fingers crossed, breaks the ground for marine one facility

Lockheed Martin, Marine One presidential transport missions, achieved a breakthrough in the contracts regarding the systems installation facility for the U.S. Navy's proposed version of the aircraft called US101 in Owego, N.Y. In anticipation of the contract, the new Lockheed facility would feature offices, laboratories, parts storage, aircraft maintenance facilities and aircraft hangars.

Lockheed leaders says Navy money pinch bolsters LCS case

An executive from the Lockheed Martin Corp. asserts that the shortage in funds is forcing the Navy to go in for the fast-but-agile coastal-fighting Littoral Combat Ship (LCS). The LCS is a bargain because it is a smaller vessel requiring smaller crew size, but possesses formidable capabilities that are equivalent to destroyers or aircraft carriers.
