Article Abstract:
Firms have to cope with more risk in the business environment of the 90s due to the increased competition brought by technological innovations. At the same time, they can benefit from the advantages afforded by technology such as intranets in managing risk. The use of intranets in firms as an alterative to traditional risk management methods which are inefficient and dispersed. The technology can unite the efforts of different departments and increase the possibility of matching decisions with the firm's risk philosophy and culture.
