Marketing associations have forsaken members
Article Abstract:
Large marketing groups have remained indifferent to the plight of marketers who have been affected by corporate downsizing. These broadbased marketing groups, which include the American Marketing Assn., Business Marketing Assn., Advertising Research Federation, Assn. of National Advertisers, American Advertising Federation and American Assn. of Advertising Agencies, must help their members keep their jobs and to provide their displaced members with better services. They could also conduct surveys, job banks, employment services and training courses to better their members' lot.

Foreign direct investment: Survey of Implementation of Methodological Standards
Article Abstract:
The IMF and OECD undertook a study on foreign direct investment statistics entitled 'Survey of Implementation of Methodological Standards for Direct Investment.' Its findings indicated that 75% of OECD and non-OECD countries adopted the '10% rule' regarding the recommendation for the quantification of direct investment relationships. Also, 23 OECD and 36 non-OECD countries recognized indirectly-owned direct investment enterprises in their statistics. However, only four OECD and 11 non-OECD countries noted the acquisition of equity capital by direct investment enterprise.
