Article Abstract:
Offshore investments are viewed with suspicion by some people who see them as linked to crime, tax evasion and poor regulation, yet this is only part of the story. Major British fund management companies have offshore operations with funds mirroring those offered in Britain. Offshore funds have particular attractions for expatriates who may be liable for local taxes but not on investments made offshore or where they live. Non-resident taxpayers may also find that offshore investments are useful for tax planning.

For now, the New York jigsaw's still in place
Article Abstract:
Inflation will have a major impact on most US stock prices, and inflation was stable in Nov 1999, though some raw materials, imports, and wages could affect this. There is a need for caution at a time when the market is bullish. There is little patience with advisers or brokers who recommend holding cash. There are differences between the prices of stocks that are fashionable and stocks in well known major companies. Kent Electronics is a possible new stock worth investigating.
