Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest tracker of them all?
Article Abstract:
United Kingdom tracker funds have sometimes outperformed active funds, though active funds may perform better when stock prices are tending to fall. Portfolios can include a tracker over the longer term, since charges are lower than for active funds. Charges and tracking ability are the key issues, and larger funds may be able to track more accurately and obtain better deals, so offer lower charges. Data on trackling error is not always easy to obtain.
