Article Abstract:
Lockheed Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems, Marietta, Ga., is being awarded a $30,205,495 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract to conduct Phase II and III of the service life assessment program (SLAP) being conducted for the P-3C aircraft. The primary purpose of the SLAP is to assess the fatigue life and damage tolerance characteristics of the P-3C airframe, and to identify structural modifications required in an effort to attain the 2015 service life goal. Work will be performed in Marietta, Ga. (90%), and Dallas, Texas (10%), and is expected to be completed by March 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-99-C-1386).

Raytheon Co., (d.b.a. Raytheon Systems Co.), Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded a $35,263,810 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-98-C-5441 for the production of 100 low rate initial production missiles for the Block 1 guided missile round pack production program. This effort is in support of the rolling airframe missile. Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz. (50%), and Ottobrunn, Germany (50%), and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
