Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Corp., Norfolk, Va., is being awarded a $25,052,949 cost-plus-award-fee contract for the repair, overhaul, and upgrade of theNavy ammunition ship USNS Shasta (T-AE-33). This contract contains options which, if exercised, could bring the cumulative value of this contract to around $28,000,000. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed in August 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 38 proposals solicited and four offers received. The U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00033-98-C-4000).

Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed in December 1998. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
