Article Abstract:
SENSYS Technologies, Inc., Newington, Va., has been awarded a $6,341,533 firm-fixed-price contract for electronic threat warning detection systems for the privateer program. The privateer special operations platform conducts active and covert coastal surveillance and command, control, communications in support of amphibious warfare, mine warfare, maritime defense, naval control/protection of shipping and counter-narcotics missions. Special operations platforms are designed as a rapidly deployable and cost effective method of supplying an area commander or government agency with timely and accurate tracking and identification of all airborne, surface and sub-surface electronic activity in an operating area. This contract contains an option which, if exercised, will bring the total cumulative value of the contract to $9,855,852. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va. (50%), and San Diego, Calif. (50%), and is expected to be completed by October 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year. The contract was not competitively procured. ITT Avionics, 100 Kingsland Road, Clifton, N.J., is being awarded a $17,811,880 contract for upgrading the electronic countermeasures of the U. S. Special Operations Command's (USSOCOM) C-130 fleet to the AN/ALQ-172(V)1 (ECP-93) version. Procurement options permit increase to the amount of approximately $44,660,997. This upgrade provides expanded system ECM and OFP memory capacity, additional PR channels and flightline reprogrammability. The location of work performance is at ITT Clifton facilities in New Jersey. The U.S. Special Operations Command, Tampa, Fla. is the contracting activity (USZA22-98-C-0004).
