Crowley American Transport, Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., is being awarded a $35,675,625 time charter contract for the charter of MV Sea Lion, a U.S. flag vessel, which is a container ship with a limited amount of roll-on/roll-off space, and will be used in prepositioning of the Army general cargo in Guam/Saipan. Work will be performed in waters around Guam/Saipan, and is expected to be completed by October 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 250 proposals solicited and 30 offers received. The Military Sealift Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00033-98-C-3302).
