Hughes Missile Systems Co., Tucson, Ariz., is receiving a $10,252,729 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-96-C-5431 for partial exercise of the cost-plus-award-fee FY 99 options to provide for life-cycle maintenance support for the MK 15 PHALANX Close-In Weapon System and MK 23 Target Acquisition System in the areas of overhauls, conversion/ upgrades, repairs and level of effort tasks. Work will be performed in Louisville, Ky., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 1999. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va., is being awarded an $8,836,374 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for aircraft carrier engineering support services. This contract contains options which if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to $45,471,044. Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 2003. Contract funds in the amount of $4,551,134 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-99-C-2100).
