Norwest Coordinates Its Sell to Business
Article Abstract:
Norwest Corp. is a commercial banking company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a holding company for a large number of banks, trust companies and other financial services. Until recently all these units had near total autonomy. As a result, individual units were not aware of financial services other units might offer. Norwest management is now adopting what it calls a client driven approach. The new strategy calls for client executive terms to service groups of clients and prospects. This new system will help Norwest to identify new business opportunities. It will also enable it to identify businesses which no longer fit into the organization. Management also hopes that this new approach will enable it to boost its return on equity which has dropped slightly in recent years.
