British Air Couriers Welcome U.S. Entrants
Article Abstract:
The air courier, Federal Express of the United States will be moving into the European market using Great Britain as its home base. Although courier competition in the United Kingdom is fierce, the competition is not worried. The air courier market is beginning to split between companies putting the emphasis on size, and those emphasizing the quality of service. Courier operators are waiting to see what Federal Express' advertising campaign will be. Federal Express may have some problems promoting itself, due to lack of experience in cross border courier operations. DHL International, a Hong Kong based air courier service emphasizes its worldwide network of offices in its marketing thrust. Other companies are emphasizing more personal service. The air courier business is at a point right now, where reliability and security are major selling points. It is expected that Federal Express will maintain a high profile in Europe as it does in the United States.
