IBM: plug pulled
Article Abstract:
International Business Machines (IBM) has cut back research efforts for the company's OS/2 operating system. The software was laucnhed in Dec 1995 for Power PCs but work will not be carried out for new Power PC versions. IBM is focusing on Intel machines which account for some 75% of the world market. Consumers have not accepted the produce as readily as expected and this is partly due to delays. Some 1 billion pounds sterling has been invested in the system.
