Philip Morris Inc is accused of orchestrating a lobbying campaign worldwide to prevent any attempt by the World Trade Organization to restrict cigarette marketing in a documentary video titled 'Making a Killing: Philip Morris, Kraft and Global Tobacco Addition. INFACT, a corporate watchdog that has been calling for a boycott of Kraft products, sponsored the video that premiered in New York, NY, on Sep 25, 2000. According to INFACT, there is a gap between Philip's public relations in the US and its practices abroad.

Press conference gets very personal

The highly publicized, mysterious disappearance of travel writer Claudia Kirschhoch in Jamaica has created a public relations nightmare for the company that arranged the press trip that included the writer. Tourist services Sandals Resorts International (SRI) lamented the leakage of information to the press by Kirschhoch's father that placed the company in a negative light. SRI Public Relations Director Leo Lambert also disputed other issues that Fred Kirschhoch had aired to the media.

Airlines need PR boost to counter image woes
